Memorandum of Understanding between TUC and the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban)

On the 13th of February 2019, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been established by and between TUC and the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), to promote bilateral cooperation in education and culture with the attendance of the Ambassador Zhang Qiyue and the the Administration of the Technical University of Crete. The aim of the cooperation program is to enable teaching of the Chinese language by a specialized Chinese teacher of the Hanban Organization, first to students and later to teachers, employees, but also to anyone interested in the local community.

Chinese Language

Chinese language courses meet the criteria of the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) which is an international standardized Chinese language examination and assessment system implemented by the National Chinese Language Certification Commission / HANBAN of the Ministry of Education of China to certify the level of knowledge and ability to use Chinese as a foreign language in everyday life, but also in academic and work environments.

Chinese I

Chinese I is suitable for learners of Chinese without systematic Chinese learning experience and those who are going to take the HSK Level 1 Test. This course aims to help the learners master Pinyin, basic characters writing, daily expression. We hope this course can help every student have a good start and make further progress in their Chinese learning. 3 ECTS

Chinese II

This course is scheduled for the students who have been studying for Chinese I. It requires at least 100-150 words. After studying, students should master 300 words, be able to conduct simple daily conversation in Chinese, and pass the HSK 1 or HSK 2. 3 ECTS

Chinese III

This course is suitable for the Chinese Language learners who have passed HSK Level 2 Test and mastered about 300 Chinese words. On the basis of HSK 1 and HSK 2, this course adds the learning of slang and culture. It is hoped that learners can pass HSK Level 3 Test after learning. 3 ECTS

Chinese IV

Chinese IV is suitable for students who have passed the HSK Level 3 Test. Not only can the students master about 600 words by learning, but also pass the HSK level 3 Test with excellent grades. 3 ECTS
