English I

English I focuses on repetition of grammar phenomena and vocabulary of general English level B2 as well as on learning basic academic vocabulary. Their goal is to develop skills in understanding texts and writing official correspondence, of an academic and professional nature. The course material includes original texts of specialized content of B2 level, assignments and tests in the electronic classroom, as well as exercises. 2 ECTS

Note: Students who have a C2 level certification according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​can submit a simple photocopy of their diploma at the beginning of the semester to the Secretariat of the Language Center in order to receive a final semester grade of 8.0 without taking the final exam.

English II

English II offers further C1 level grammar and vocabulary learning as well as advanced academic vocabulary. They aim to develop writing skills, oral and written comprehension skills. The course material includes original texts of specialized content of grade C1, assignments and tests in the electronic classroom, in combination with exercises. 2 ECTS

English III

English III aims at learning specialized terminology, corresponding to various courses of the School, such as Strength of Materials, Geophysics (seismic), Engineering, Petrology and Physical Processes. They are based on texts and exercises from authentic material and focus on developing advanced skills in understanding written texts and lectures on specialized topics, as well as the ability to summarize lengthy scientific texts. The course material includes both didactic notes and exercises in the online classroom. 2 ECTS

English IV

English IV aims at learning specialized terminology, corresponding to various courses of the School, such as Geophysics, Soil Engineering, Exploitation, General and Systematic Mineralogy. They are based on texts and exercises from authentic material and focus on developing advanced skills in understanding written texts and lectures on specialized topics, as well as the ability to write ideas on scientific issues. The course material includes both didactic notes and exercises in the online classroom. 2 ECTS
