Participation of the Technical University of Crete in the Forum Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the China–Greece Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China–Greece Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Professor Panagiotis Partsinevelos, Director of the Laboratory of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering (SenseLab), Ms. Zhu Shiheng, Chinese language instructor and students of the Chinese language courses were invited to participate in the forum entitled "The Beauty of Harmony and Coexistence", held on 7 May 2026 at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens.

The forum was jointly organized by Xinhua News Agency, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Greece and the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia. Its objective was to further promote the sustainable and substantive development of China–Greece relations, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations and enhance friendship and practical cooperation between the two countries.

As the only student speaker at the forum, Christos Kadas (山峰), a student of the Chinese IV course, was invited to speak representing the Greek students and sharing his experiences from the YES Programme in China during the previous summer. We sincerely thank him for his valuable contribution.

As part of the forum, the award ceremony for the Logo Design Competition commemorating the 20th anniversary of the China–Greece Comprehensive Strategic Partnership also took place. The Technical University of Crete received an Honorary Commendation from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in recognition of its efforts in organizing and supporting student participation in the competition.

Two teams from the Technical University of Crete participated in the logo design competition:

The SenseLab team, led by Professor Panagiotis Partsinevelos, together with Ms. Argyro Pouliasi and all members of the laboratory.

The Language Centre team, coordinated by Anastasios Diamantis, together with all students enrolled in the Chinese IV course.
